About the Presenters
Michael Freeman, Attorney, Law Offices of Michael F. Freeman, L.L.C.
Attorney Freeman received his J.D. from Western New England University School of Law and his B.A. from Providence College. He is admitted to practice law in Connecticut and Massachusetts. He is Secretary for the Sports and Entertainment Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, Legal advisor to the Maxwell Shepherd Memorial Arts Fund, a member of the American Bar Association, Americana Music Association, and Folk Alliance International. He has been a guest speaker at music industry conferences where he discussed legal issues facing professional musicians and at Law School and Bar Association conferences where he discussed the responsibilities of representing artists in the music industry. His clients include Parsonsfield, Enter The Haggis, Wise Old Moon, The Meadows Brothers, Elin Jewell, The Feathermerchants, Jonah Tolchin, iCRV Radio, Dirt Floor Recording Studios and others. Prior to opening his law firm, Attorney Freeman was the chief legal officer for the insurance subsidiaries of the International Financial Group, and Associate General Counsel for Travelers Insurance Company.
Amanda Kenyon, Music Business Consultant, Blue Crane Music LLC
Amanda Kenyon is the founder of Blue Crane Music LLC, a Connecticut-based business dedicated to supporting musicians grow their careers. Blue Crane Music provides music business consulting, publicity, management, booking and promotion services. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Hartford. Prior to launching Blue Crane Music in 2015, Amanda spent seven years working for one of Fortune magazine’s top 50 ranked companies, where she completed a rigorous leadership development program, and spent three years with the second largest global accounting firm. In addition to providing management and booking services for bands and singer-songwriters across Connecticut, Amanda has served as stage management at Connecticut festivals such as CT Farm & Folk Festival, Middletown Music Festival, and Glastonbury Apple Harvest Festival, and is also a performing mandolinist and vocalist. Her clients include Plywood Cowboy, Belle of the Fall, Brian Dolzani, Podunk Throwbacks, Bill Benson, Jean-Claude Trans/Am and others.
